With Christmas just around the corner, the Board of Directors for the Italian Baseball Softball Players Association have decided to unwrap an early gift: expanding our staff and integrating a new element of international communication.

We are happy to announce that Salvatore Manzo has accepted the role of International Media Coordinator for the IBSPA.

Salvatore will be responsible for writing, translating, and publishing our articles/official press releases for the English version of our site which will go online in the coming months.
He is being added to an already growing Department of Operations; with Tommaso Scagnolari, Carolina Maggioli, and Giulia Ferrari also joining the team.

“Sal”, born in 1991, is a sports media professional with over ten years of experience. Although a New Yorker, he is a proud Italian-American with strong ties to his Italian roots.
Previously, Sal spent years working in baseball as an experienced college-level coach and scout in the New York area, and his current roles include producing video content for CBS Sports Network, as well as covering the Mets and MLB as a senior writer and editor for metsmerizedonline.com.

“I am excited to join the IBSPA team” – says Salvatore – “being able to contribute to the growth of baseball in Italy and the promotion of the Association in the USA is a pleasure, and I’m sure that with my experience and my passion for baseball we will do a great job!”

The IBSPA Board of Directors would like to thank Mr. Manzo for accepting the task and the burden of being our voice to communicate from Italy to the rest of the world.

“In bocca al lupo Sal” and welcome aboard!”!
